ADHD Diagnostics – Gain clarity and better understand yourself

What is ADHD?

ADHD stands for attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. It often begins in childhood, but in many people, it persists into adulthood – sometimes unnoticed. Typical symptoms can include:

• Inattention – difficulty focusing, staying on task, or completing tasks.
• Inner restlessness or drivenness – the feeling of being constantly under pressure, of not being able to switch off.
• Impulsivity – rash actions or speech, emotional reactions that are difficult to control.

ADHD often manifests itself differently in adults than in children – less through externally visible hyperactivity, but rather through internal tension or chronic overexertion.

Why a diagnosis can be helpful

Untreated ADHD can affect many areas of life in adulthood: work, relationships, daily life, and self-esteem. Comorbid mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and addiction are also more common.

A professionally sound diagnosis makes it possible to better classify symptoms and better understand one’s own behavior and thought patterns – an important basis for targeted support or therapy.

Diagnostic Procedure

In my practice, I offer structured ADHD assessment for adults. This typically consists of four to five appointments, each lasting approximately one hour. The initial consultation is free and non-binding, where we determine whether assessment is appropriate and effective.

The further process:

• Medical history form: A questionnaire that helps to systematically record your previous experiences and life history.
• Discussions/Interviews: In these appointments, we look together at typical behavioral patterns, stressors, and symptoms.
• Testing procedures: Standardized concentration and attention tests as well as psychological procedures help to assess the disorder in a differentiated manner.

At the end of the process, you will receive detailed feedback and a written report, which is usually available within 2 to 3 weeks.
